Why it matters
An early piece of Art Blocks history
P:X is Art Blocks project #54, visible directly in every token ID (54000000–54000383, per Proof of Origin). Only 53 projects existed on the platform before it. It shipped in December 2021, ahead of the frenzy that generative art on Art Blocks was about to become, back when the format was still a small, developing corner of the space rather than the crowded field it later grew into. Collecting a P:X isn't just collecting six shapes and their motion. It's holding a piece from early in that timeline.
P:X is a Factory project, one of Art Blocks' three platform tracks. Factory isn't unjuried • artists still applied and were approved • but the bar was lower than Art Blocks' flagship Curated track, which is far more selective. That platform-level Curated track is a different thing entirely from the Type: Curated trait used throughout this site, which just marks the 16 hand-picked P:X editions within the collection. Same word, two unrelated meanings, worth keeping straight.
